As I’m nearing the end of my second trimester, I’ve been getting more and more uncomfortable. I’m lucky that I never felt much morning sickness or nausea during my pregnancy, but I’ve really been feeling all the aches and pains and discomforts that come with harboring a growing babe inside your belly.
While I have been able to find some comfort at home by surrounding myself in a cradle of pillows in bed, I had almost forgotten what it was like to be truly comfortable. That is until I made my way to the Feel Good Factor in Hong Kong.
Pregnancy Massage Hong Kong
I reached out to Spa Director Helen, for some prenatal comforting and she knew just what I (and any soon-to-be-mama) would need — a luxurious 90 minute prenatal massage and pedicure.
It’s important to find a spa and masseuse that is qualified for prenatal massages to make sure that the experience is not only relaxing but also safe for you and your baby. The welcoming team at Feel Good Factor perform prenatal massages almost daily and it’s clear from the beginning of your massage experience that you’re in well trained hands.
Durga, my smiling masseuse, led me to the massage room. It was prepared with dim lights, soothing lavender essential oils, calming music, and the piece-de-resistance – a specially designed massage bed for expecting mothers that has a perfect placed and lightly cushioned hole so that you can lay on your stomach without any added pressure on your belly.
Oh. My. Goodness.
COMFORT. Unbelievable comfort. Even before Durga started the massage, I was amazed at how incredibly comfortable it was to finally lay down on my stomach again. I immediately relaxed as I felt my back relieved of the weight of my belly. It was a relief I didn’t even know I needed.
Once Durga began carefully massaging me with a special blend of oils, I was in heaven.
Massages, pre-pregnancy, were always such a treat, but add in months of aching joints, not being able to sleep on your back or belly and I soon realised that massages during pregnancy are a must!
After 90 indulgent minutes being massaged from head to toe, I was in complete bliss. Lucky for me, the experience wasn’t over yet. Outside of the massage room I was met with a cup of ginger tea and a warm foot bath so that I could continue my relaxation with a pedicure.
It has become more and more difficult for me to reach down over my belly to put on socks or shoes, let alone even think about trying to paint my toes. With the weather in Hong Kong starting to warm up and my beautiful new pedicure from Feel Good Factor I can skip my usual struggle with socks and shoes and instead slip on a pair of sandals to finally show off my now sparkling toes.
I’ve been raving about the prenatal pampering at Feel Good Factor to Peter and to my prenatal bump groups so I’m thrilled to share that Feel Good Factor is kindly offering a 10% discount to guests trying one of their 60 min or 90 min prenatal massages for the first time.
Alternatively you could select one of their three packages, specially designed for expecting mamas:
90 minute massage and pedicure
60 minute massage and pedicure
60 minute facial and pedicure
