This post is all about the immediate hour or so after our wedding ceremony in Bali, before we joined the rest of our guests for the reception.
But mostly this is in case anyone other than my mom and me was interested in looking at some of the (literally) thousands photos of Peter and I giggling over how we were having the best day ever.
Meanwhile our other guests weren’t having too bad of a time either.
We did have an afternoon rain shower after our ceremony ended, but luckily it was a typical Balinese rain — it showered then stopped shortly after leaving us with nice cooler weather just in time for more drinks, dinner, dancing, and CAKE.
And what was even luckier than having a quick rain shower was that we had the amazing team at the Alila Ubud organizing and hosting our wedding festivities. The team at Alila Ubud set up the tables, chairs, and decorations for the entire reception during our ceremony only to have the rain come in so they had to take everything apart and move it under the covering of the restaurant during the cocktail hour. Then when the rain stopped during the cocktail hour, the team quickly took everything down again and re-set it all up poolside.
Peter and I were completely unaware of that entire process, taking photos and sipping cocktails with our wedding party. Stress. Free. It was only later that we heard about the quick turnaround for our reception venue, but we were thrilled that we had the rain free poolside reception we had planned. In fact it was actually really nice that our grand entrance for the reception was delayed just slightly while the team set up because it gave us a chance after photos to sit, have a cocktail and chat with our wedding party before going down for dinner.
Thank you to Danny Halim and my Uncle Eli for the beautiful photos in this post!
