Since Peter and I live overseas, nearly everything about our engagement and wedding planning adventure has been unconventional compared to a traditional American wedding experience.
So while our actual wedding is still more than half a year away, I was so excited that my maid of honor and bridesmaid hosted an early bridal shower during my visit to Texas.
I had just arrived in Houston the night before the party so seeing friends and family for the first time in almost a year made for the perfect welcome home celebration. Flying back to the US always gives me the worst jet lag (I have almost no jet lag when I fly from the US to Hong Kong), but I managed to fight it off with sugar, champagne, and wedding talk.
This was the first time anyone (aside from my parents) had see me in person since Peter and I got engaged so I was more than happy to show off my beautiful ring and to show off Peter who came near the end of the party to meet everyone.
The stars of the day were as always, my sweet nieces who loved the attention, excitement and of course– the sweets.
Thank you to my talented sister, Gabby for these lovely photos and thank you to Uzma and Kacey for planning such a beautiful afternoon!
