Y’all. I did it. I went wedding dress shopping in Texas last month and I finally decided on a dress.
Earlier in the summer I had gone wedding dress shopping with my parents (who met me in San Francisco) and I flew back to Hong Kong still deciding between two gowns. I ended up postponing my purchase knowing that I’d be in Houston later and I’m so glad I did.
My mom made a few different bridal appointments for me and off we went to shop with my maid of honor, Uzma, and my bridesmaid, Kacey.
Since I had tried on a few dresses in San Francisco already, I had a pretty good idea of what type of dress I liked and what type I didn’t like. I picked out a few gowns at the first bridal boutique and my sweet stylist picked out a few dresses as well.
The first gown I tried on was a hit.
I tried on a couple more and started to have that feeling of, “Um I love all the dresses” before I finally put on the gown that ended up being the one.
The dress ended up being part of the collection from the trunk show that the boutique was hosting that weekend. Not only was the dress designer in the store that day (he sketched a personalized drawing of me in the gown I purchased), but this was the first time any of the store employees had seen the dress I picked out on anyone.
My dress is not usually carried in their boutique and is not pictured online so I was the first person they had seen in it. When I made my appointment at the boutique I picked that particular date because it was the only Saturday I would be in Houston, not because of the trunk show.
Fate! This is my dress!
It was so exciting and fun having Uzma and Kacey join my mom and me for this experience. I cannot freaking wait for Peter to see me in my dress on our wedding day.
