Verbier Switzerland

Clearly a no-brainer where I’d be bringing y’all today. I finally brought out the camera with me to share some photos from my new home– Verbier Switzerland

Verbier, Switzerland

I had a free hour recently before heading to the Post Office to sort out getting a new sim card for my cell phone (basically all the shops and such close for a few hours during lunch time and then re-open later in the afternoon).

So I did a bit of wandering around Verbier and stumbled on a library in the resort.Quite random maybe to have a library in the middle of a luxury ski resort, but also wonderful.

And in the warmer months, I bet sitting out on the porch in the shade from the sun is lovely.

Or in the winter with a glass of vin chaud would work too.

Outside of the library there were window sills and bookcases full of free books. Plenty of free books for English and French readers.

There were even a few books that reminded me of my other two “homes.”

Browsing the books and taking in the view from the library was a great way to kill some time while waiting for the Post Office to open. A bit unconventional for a ski resort I suppose, but a welcome surprise.

I have every intention of improving my French and then coming back for some of the French children’s books.

With my time in Switzerland still just at its beginning, I can’t wait to see what else I’ll discover! And don’t worry, I’ll be sure to share it all here on the blog.

What unexpected spots have you found in your home town?

  • Ummm can I come visit and sit in one of those chairs with a book looking out over mountains?!?! Thank you! lol!

    • Absolutely! With a mug of hot chocolate or vin chaud 🙂

  • You pictures are gorgeous. Save me some of the warm drinks

    • Thank you! Nothing better than a warm drink on a cold night, is there?

Switzerland is a beautiful place and I love the laid back feel of the villages. You will so enjoy your time spent there. You’ll probably eat way more fondue than you could ever imagine as well. 🙂

    • I LOVE fondue so I’m definitely looking forward to that!

  • A bit of a random find, but a good one 🙂 It just looks so peaceful there – and gorgeous (of course).

    • It would be hard to find a library with a better view I’m sure! So lovely

  • Congrats on the move – my parents lived in Geneva for a few years, so we have a chalet just across the valley from you – I’ll wave when I’m there in a few weeks! The Swiss aren’t the easiest people in the world to get to know, I’ve found, so be prepared to grow a thick skin and seek out the international community if you can. The views will make it all worth it though – lucky you!!

    • Thank you! Yes luckily Verbier has a large British community. I’m loving life here so far 🙂

  • Pristine, what an AMAZING place to call home! While I am not sold on snow (even though I live in the Midwest) I could totally get on board if I lived somewhere as charming as Switzerland!

    • Thank you! The snow definitely takes a bit of getting used to for me, coming from Houston, but it makes for such a wonderful scenery with the chalets and such here in Switzerland
